Vimeo Officially Launches Music Store (Video)

Introducing Vimeo Music Store from Andrea Allen on Vimeo. ]

New York-based Vimeo launched its music store today, confirming rumors that the video platform would provide licensed music for its video creators [ see our story here ].

The Vimeo Music Store currently offers 45K+ curated tracks with three different licensing options. The free, creative commons-licensed music is curated and provided by Free Music Archive, while Audiosocket is providing paid music. Non-commercial licenses cost $1.99 per track and $98 for commercial use.

"Licensing music on your own can be confusing and finding good free music can take forever," the company blog post states. "Many of us here at Vimeo are video creators or filmmakers as well and we experience these frustrations on a regular basis. So, we decided to do something about it."

SCREEN SHOTS

Find music in the "Music Search" tool. Vimeo lists popular songs to use in the "Recommendations" tab. Users can star songs for later access in the "My Saved Tracks" tab. In the far right tab, users will see all of their song downloads. Once you download the track, add it to your video and then upload back to Vimeo.

Artist pages list all that artists's tracks and similar songs.
