Yelp Helps You Get Your Culture On

Yelp is launching its second "The Yelp Culture Club" tomorrow -- the first was in February -- to showcase museums, opera houses, cafes and more in seven cities for the month of October.

"From October 1 through the 31st, Yelp gets cultured: No, we're not talking lab coats and petri dishes. We're talking cul-cha, darling!" the Dallas Yelp Culture Club page states.

Yelp is giving locals access to a variety of free, or heavily discounted, special events and activities. Users can participate in The Yelp Culture Club in Boston, Dallas, Detroit, New Orleans, Orlando, Pittsburgh and Providence.

Offers include free nights at museums, like the Detroit Historical Museum, free burlesque lessons at Bella Blue in New Orleans and complimentary tickets to the Halloween Extravaganza Costume Party at the Texas Theatre.

"Keep an eye out for Culture Clubs to pop up in other cities in the future," Senior Public Relations Specialist Kristen Whisenand writes on the Yelp blog.

Daily deals sites like Google Offers, LivingSocial and Groupon have implemented similar offers, but instead of showcasing the arts, they sponsored local food events [ see our story here ].
