Cool: LilyPad Converts Indoor and Outdoor Light to Power iPad for up to 12 Days

Battery lifetime just can't keep up with power iPad users, but the LilyPad case can make your tablet battery last up to 12 days thanks to photovoltalic ink technology that converts outdoor and indoor light into energy.

Apple has certified the LilyPad, a process that took several months as David Foster, the engineer behind the device, writes on the Lilypad's Kickstarter page. Foster says he spent nearly a year doing circuit board and layout design for the project.

The solar iPad charger has surpassed its $27K goal, having raised $85.7K from 442 backers with four days to go.

A $165 pledge gets you one of the first LilyPads. For $235 you receive a LilyPad and a specially designed messenger bag.

A clever feature we love: the locator function. Simply whistle and the LilyPad case will beep back to you so you can find it.

SCREEN SHOTS

The LilyPad features six different color and style choices in black, gray, green or pink and features a USB port to charge any other devices you may have, including your iPhone.

It also features an HDMI out cable so users can connect their device directly to their television sets to watch movies and play iPad games. It includes a keyboard stand to prop up the device.
