Tumblr has reorganized its free and paid themes, letting users browse by category and adding an HTML code editor and real-time previews.

Themes are categorized as premium, free, single column, two column, three column, grid, textual, minimalistic, vintage, super customizable and hi-res. Premium themes cost anywhere from $9 to $49.

Previously, if users wanted to change themes, they would just see a full page of unorganized premium and free options. To preview a theme, Tumblr used to open up a new tab and while Tumblr has allowed HTML editing previously, there was not an actual editor.

LAUNCH has contacted Tumblr for comment and will update if we receive a response.

The new interface works on all browsers except Internet Explorer because Tumblr is still testing it, according to the staff blog.

Tumblr CEO David Karp founded the site in 2007. In September 2011, Tumblr raised $85M in a venture capital funding round led by Greylock Partners and Insight Venture Partners. Total funding to date is $125M.

The HTML code editor lets you customize your page and immediately see the changes you've made by clicking "Update preview."

Click the down arrow to view theme categories.

Browse through theme options to personalize your blog.

Click "Use" in the top left corner to set a theme.
